The sessions over the year will cover:
- Looking at how Finding the Optimum government report has been taken into consideration at your school
- What Working Scientifically looks like at your school
- The development of skills from EYFS to KS2
- Progression of vocabulary
- Progression of topics
- Using prior knowledge as the basis for curriculum design
- Identifying the difference between substantive and demonstrative knowledge
- How to develop independence in science
Samuel Johnson is a member of SLT, KS2 Phase leader, ICT leader and Science leader at Our Lady of Lourdes Wanstead Primary School, in the London borough of Redbridge. He is responsible for the Science curriculum throughout EYFS, KS1 and KS2. He has been integral in the development of skills and curriculum design for his school in all subject areas and has created a whole school approach which has been implemented by all subjects. Samuel currently teaches a year 6 class but also has experience in a range of other year groups, including secondary.
