Theme: The future of PSHE/RSHE and its subject leadership

This session looks to update subject leaders of PSHE on the national landscape, best practice and subject knowledge.  During this session, there will be a focus on the future of PSHE, as we see it evolve with new recommendations. We will look upon changes from a subject leader’s point of view – what must/should and could we do to meet expectations without demanding too much of staff.

  1. National landscape update – Changes to RSHE guidance and the future of PSHE
  2. Subject leader considerations – what might you focus on this academic year
  3. Sharing best practice and Q&A

Ilse Melligan is a certified PSHE teacher health and wellbeing consultant for primary schools, and the Founder and CEO of The Children’s Health Project CIC. Her work focuses on positive mental and physical wellbeing – taking in all areas of PE; PSHE, the RSHE curriculum; and the teaching of nutrition alongside cooking. Ilse’s background is as a primary teacher, county specialist teacher and SCITT tutor, and she has gained certification in several areas of health and wellbeing throughout her career. She has led training internationally, holds Fellow status with the Chartered College of Teaching, and is a committee member of the London association for PE (afPE).
